You did it! 🎉

Welcome to the 2023 Museum of Wild and Newfangled Art Biennial.

What is an online Biennial?

Who does it serve?

What have we done?

Where are we going?

What is the future of digital art and who is building it?

For this exhibition we have curated a wide range of artwork from 94 emerging and established artists from 29 countries, based on an international free open call for submissions.

The 2023 mowna Biennial signals a shift into the future of hybrid models for digital art, featuring both cross-chain and off-chain artworks. Artworks in this exhibition sometimes have corresponding NFTs on either the Ethereum or Tezos blockchains, and some of the works are not found on any blockchain.

As part of this exhibition, select artworks have been made available by the artists and the museum for purchase on the Tezos blockchain on the objkt.com platform. These works can be seen here.

To curate the artworks for the 2023 mowna Biennial, cari ann shim sham* and joey zaza spent the months of January through March 2023 hosting an international free open call for submissions. As always the wild wonder of the artworks received were a joy to behold.
